Today (and every day) Is Earth Day

Earth Day 
All year long
With due respect
Don’t think it wrong
To have concerns
For climate change
What does it hurt
To rearrange
Priorities
To help subdue 
Some things
That maybe 
Me or you
Contribute to
A warming trend
What if naysayers
In the end
Are wrong as rain
Against the wind
Will be too late
They can’t rescind
The walls they built
Their heads down in
The sands of time 
Call it a sin
To science speak
Over their faith 
Say that their God
Is way too great
To let mankind 
Control the clime
Do nothing now
Not at this time
It’s all a hoax
So many say
The rising seas
Explain away 
The floods and fires
Nothing to them
Not our concern
A passing trend
Exonerating
Man made change
But what does it hurt
To rearrange
Priorities
To help subdue 
Some things
That maybe 
Me or you
Contribute to
A warming trend
Can’t hurt to try
So in the end
Guess we’ll find out
Who’s wrong or right
If we’re still around
To see the light . . .
