The End Of KGO Talk Radio
This my tribute to KGO Talk Radio 810 San Francisco How many nights Did I stay up in spite Of needing my sleep Discerning wrong from right Those radio hosts That brought us the most Insightful debates Fell asleep at my post Audited late night classes Great thinkers, bad asses Gave myself all A pluses And spontaneous hall passes Started out with Les Crane Rare the night I’d abstain From tuning in late at night High schooler eager to gain From the guests he would bring Topics I’d not heard or seen Controversial for sure Loved the knowledge I’d glean ‘62, ‘63 from the Hungry i That nightclub he would occupy Broadcasting late into the night Always had to listen on the sly Then Ira Blue took over his spot Same location liked him a lot No wonder I was drowsy at school Tuned in every night never got caught My early education days Had my own clandestine way To learn about life’s goings on Not a cent of tuition did I pay San Francisco 810 Radio This my tribute To years of listening to KGO . . .
