Colleen Pierson Coleman-Hahn November 8, 1925 - September 24, 2017 Memorialized November 9, 2017 We’re all walking each other home We’re holding hands with you Remembering the life you’ve led And all that you’ve been through You had a tough upbringing You weren't treated like the rest But your sisters looked out for you And you did your very best Your little brother came along How lucky could he be To have a big sister like you A bond we all could see You grew up in depression times Learned what life’s all about Got a job while still in high school Then World War ll broke out You joined the cause out in DC Wanted to do your part And to make a long story short You stole Bob Coleman's heart You married and the war ended Your lives had just begun I've figured out that you had me Before you turned twenty-one How you came to California Is another tale to tell But once you found your niche out here You guys did very well Dad was an electrician But then he got into sales Finally became a manager More successes than were fails All the time you raised us up Did all you knew to do You two did the best that you could To get us all on through Both were respected by your peers As honest and upstanding You supported Dad through his career No matter how demanding Took us to church which was a part Of who we've come to be Helped shape us into who we are Though all shaped differently As I look back I guess the thing I always felt from you Was that you were really concerned About how I would do Whether it was the prayers you said Or the letters that you wrote The phone calls we had regularly Or some scripture you would quote I always knew you loved me Sometimes felt overbearing But don't know where I'd be today Without my Mother's caring And I saw you care for others Ask some souls who were unable To make it on their own out there To take their place around our table I want to thank you Mom For showing me the giving way For setting that example That I try to live today For the heart you've had for others For the heart you've had for me For the art of life you’ve showed me That has shaped my destiny That has joined our hearts together As we’re holding hands with you And we’re all walking each other home Seeing each other through . . .
