Our feral mother cat had a litter Before we got her fixed Found homes for all her kittens Except for one that we had nixed “We’re saving her for our granddaughter” So didn’t give her away We thought she wanted a kitten But when it finally came to that day Turns out she didn’t after all So we took her in anyway To hang out with her mother we thought But we never saw that day Another feral cat had claimed our porch And he treated her so mean We got him fixed and fixed her too But he’d attack her when she was seen So she became an indoor cat With a litter box and all We let her out through our back door Whenever she heeds the call But if we shut the door within minutes She lets us know she wants back in Desperate to not be out too long She’s still afraid of him Two drawbacks to having an indoor cat She has ruined our mohair chairs They’re shredded just like grated cheese Pretty much ruined beyond repair And then whenever I sit down Where she has created her works of art Immediately she’s on my lap Tearing my heart apart Would like to have a productive day Avoid taking an unneeded nap But can never get anything done you see She’s chosen me as her go to guy So many things I can’t do as the day goes by Because I have this cat upon my lap . . .

She is so cute no wonder you two love each other!
As they say, “you don’t own a cat, they own you”.
